Nightshift

Well its been 8 years since the last one and now here we are. Seven days of nightshift with the Dawson five. Well it all went very well with the kids letting Dad sleep and Mum doing a sterling job of keeping them occupied.

Talking Tom

So the kids have a spare iPhone for listening to music etc. Well now its 'my phone' according to Keeley after she found Talking Tom. Now we cant get the phone out of her hands and we are slightly sick of "rossi" talking to us, especially when he repeats a good telling off. Somehow it loses its impact.

Xanders birthday

Xander turned 8 and of course had a party, but what theme. After watching some scary movies it was decided on a haunted house theme so off to Lombards. So with the rumpus full of cobwebs and spiders it was set off with the smoke machine and thriller playing on the ipod. A bought of sickness meant a few mates had to pull out but his core mates were there to play make a mummy and then stacks on dad as they picked it all up. A great day and a wonderful cake, yet again.

Quick holiday at Rye

While Cath and Hugh are off sailing around the Carribean we took advantage of a quick weekend at Rye. The weather was sunny but cold so short trips to the park and beach were the go. In the evenings we took advantage of the Apple TV and downloaded a couple of movies. Once again Dette took control of the camera and took some fantastic pics. We also had a surprise visitor with Robynne popping in for lunch.We also had a trip to London Bridge, wow that was a long walk especially after Keeley refused to step on the sand!!

Phillip Island

The camping trip down to Phillip Island last month spurred the Dawson Five onto organising a short weekend away down to the Island. The house was spectacular but a bit chilly so lots of wood for the Koonara was bought. We also visited the local park and of course caught some waves.The cold weather meant some oppurtunities for indoor fun and what better than the chocolate factory. Whilst it was cold you cant come to the beach without walking in some sand. So we all rugged up and went to the surf beach. Unfortunately it was a bit rainy so we didnt stay long


In the evening we visited the penquins. It was freezing with the onshore breeze. As usual the crowds were huge but we saw loads of birds on the walk back up to the shops. They really are very cute.
The last day we had to visit the pelicans and stingrays and they didnt disapoint.
