Xander's first day at School

I just can't wait for him to get home to show off how handsome my little man is!! This morning he was excited, and nervous, about school - so much so that he hardly ate any breakfast! Here was the boy who normally scoffs down 2 or 3 bowls of nutri gran, barely skimming the surface of his first bowl!! Granted, he was tired because the heat was ridiculous again last night, not dropping low enough to allow anyone to cool down.

The boy he's sitting next to is named Mitchell, and seems lovely. I'll be back later with an update of how he reports on his first day! But for now, some pictures!!

Looking VERY handsome in his new uniform
and almost as if he's just stepped out of a uniform catalogue!

With his brothers and sister ~
who were nearly as excited as he was!

My two boys in blue.
Daddy was soooo proud of his boy!
He was also very annoyed that he had a prac exam scheduled for
9am this morning, even after he'd asked if he could go in late
because of Xander's first day! He gets drop off duty next week.

And a VERY proud, though haggard, looking mum, with her big boy!

HOT HOT HOT

It's has been a sweltering couple of days as you can see below. It hasnt been this hot and hot for this long for a hundred odd years. I have been doing a course and Dette has been at home trying to entertain the kids in the cool room.

Xander starts school tomorrow so expect a blog entry very soon.

Amusing Quote 1.
Xander asked Marshall to get a dummy for Amelia. Marshall said she wasn't allowed one, only at rest time. Xander said to Amelia "Here - suck my thumb!!!!!"

Amusing Quote 2.
Xander just said to his little sister "Please can i play with you? Soon I'll be at school and wont ever get to play with you!" She said NO!

It was a hectic few weeks and its impossible to wrap them up here. I should have made daily blog entry but didnt get round to it. During the first week of the Walmley Dawsons visit, Marshall and Xander had fast track. This is an extensive week swimming course. They are doing very well and with the time spent in the Eyre Court pool have come on in leaps and bounds.
The Walmley Dawsons were a few days late for real Christmas so we had another one. It was a great day and the musketeers had all sorts of fun playing with their cousins.
A BBQ at Petes. Cammy and Fraser took Xander under their wing and taught him some DS action. Marshall was indocrinated by the girls and had loads of fun.Gumbuya Park is fun for all, a smashing day.

The Countdown Begins...

Well, the time has come - yep, Xander starts school this year, in fact, he starts in 26 days! We've been delaying organising ourselves simply because we've been so busy with Christmas and the UK Dawson's being over here, but decided to pull our fingers out yesterday. So, it was off to the uniform shop!!!

We bought Xander his entire summer uniform and some of his winter stuff but still have to get shoes, lunch box, etc. I don't knoiw who was more excited - Xander or Mummy. (Yes i do! Mummy!!!)

Here are a few pics of our big boy, trying on his uniform for Grandma and Grandfa.
In his summer uniform, sans shoes!

An over-the-shoulder shot, to show off the bag!
And a VERY proud Mummy!!

Christmas, New Year and Walmley Dawsons

Its been a hectic couple of weeks as im sure it has been in most homes. So i wont waffle on too much. Not much text here sorry....

First was Christmas . Santa came as predicted and dropped off some smashing pressies for all the family. The boys received a climbing frame, basketball ring , train set and of course lots of Ben 10. Amelia now has her first real bike, a cubby house and of course some Barbies. Nate received a trike and Mr Potato head. The morning was spent at home and then onto Eyre court for lunch and then Mt Eliza for tea and a swim. Great day, very tiring though.
Nate had a little sleep in, and we didn't want to wake him so let the others open their gifts first. Then, when he finally decided to join in the fun, his brothers and sister were there to give a hand with the opening of difficult presents!
My Wonder Woman!!!This was the Sunday after Chrimbo at Gran and Granfas.
The New Shirvo (Linford Christie)
A few days after Christmas the Walmley Dawsons arrived for the annual Blog Conference. Here are some pics from a BBQ at Petes. The kids had a blast and the bigger kids played beautifully with the littlies. The boys and girls rooms were setting up a fierce rivalry.
