Easter

Well it is confirmed, Chocolate makes you hyper. Easter morning the kids woke up at some ridiculous hour, even earlier than Christmas. They scurried into Amelia's room and tucked into Amelias first egg. The bunny had left it at the foot of her bed, as a surprise and it was. We had a morning snacking on choccy and then to make up for it a roast lamb lunch with all the vegies. (7 in fact). The Easter Bunny took Marshalls dummys and left him a new Robin toy. Marshall was very good but didnt sleep for his rest.

Then off to Frankston to drop off Grandmas car and have another egg hunt and hot cross buns. Got to practice some hair dressing too!!

Got a new phone with a 5 megapixel camera, (nokia N82). Ridiculous really but i like it. So we all went to the park on Easter Monday and took a couple of snaps.

FEW LITTLE THINGS

Here are a couple of blogworthy mentions.

  • Amelia has been using the potty a lot, three times today with no accidents.

  • Nathaniel can now roll over, back and forward, with abandon. Giggles like girty too.

  • Marshall has done well without his puff daddy however sneaked one of Amelias today and waited for mummy to turn her back before sneaking a quick suck. Gave it up no worries though.

Xander and Marshall wearing baseball caps :---

Xander "I'm going to wear it yoyo."
Daddy, "What's that?"
Xander proceeded to turn his hat around and style like a gangsta pimp, "You know , Yo Yo."

Amelia's proper party

The birthday girl was in fine form today, nice and refreshed after her afternoon nap and ready to party. The action was temporarily interrupted when she received her gift from Uncle Gez and Aunty Michelle... she wanted to sit and read her Dora books with Gran for the rest of the afternoon. Daddy eventually enticed her off the couch with the promise of chippies!
She loved being the centre of attention!

Nate had a fantastic time getting cuddles from everyone.

Daddy ran the games once again -
this time a (slightly rigged) game of pass the parcel
and stick the nose on the clown.

Showing off her beautiful hair-do. She loves having little ponytails put in, or even a fountain on top, and will sit so still while Mummy struggles with getting such fine hair to go where she wants it!

And finally, the cake! Another request from the birthday girl - Dora. (In case you can't tell!)

My Big Girl!

Well, it seems 2 is the magic number, not 3 (like the TV tells us!)

Amelia has decided she's going to use the potty!!!!!

We've been trying for a little while to get her interested but to no avail. She had been happy to sit on it with her clothes on, but once she had a bare bum she was more interested in running around the house giggling like a mad giggle-gurt from Giggleville than actually doing wee! Well, correction - than doing wee in the potty...she was more than happy to do it where she stood, in fact we've even had a couple of surprise poos on the carpet! (Xander and Marshall have NOT been impressed!)

Things changed today when Gran brought over another potty for us - this time a beautiful red one. While i was organising the boys in their room Amelia was busy taking off her clothes (why can they always get them off a lot easier than getting them on?). She shocked us all by walking into the boys room holding the potty bowl, saying "Wees. Weeeeeeessssssss!" Yes, she had taken herself to the potty! So much for me toilet training her - i think she was just waiting for a 'girlie' potty to begin toilet training herself!

We might just get all of our kids out of nappies before we hit middle age!

(PS Gran held Nate over the potty today when he showed signs of 'concentrating' and he did his first 'assisted' poo on the potty too! Way to go Nate!!)

A picture of Nate at Grandma and Grandfa's on Sunday. Grandfa was brave and helped Nate finish off his bottle.

Amelia's Second Birthday

It's a cliche but time really does fly. We celebrated Amelia's birthday first thing when the musketeers woke up. Presents and cards on mum and dads bed and then Dette off to work.

Dad had a crack at decorating a cake and did an okay job, I guess the video tells the rest of the story.

Another Weekend

Mum had been at camp for the previous 3 days so Mr Mum was back in town. Amelia had a holiday at Auntie Caths and had an absolute ball, spoit rotten she was. The boys run about town creating havoc at the play centre and Fountain Gate.

We were all pleased to get mum back and the Musketeers back together though. Amelia is starting to really grow up and is now swimming like a fish. She is also speaking a lot more saying Xander clearly and Marshy for her brother.
The three "cheeky" wise monkeys

On Sunday we went to Maccas to watch the bikes come back from the Island. It was the Superbikes and Dad had a little tear in his eye remembering times gone by. Never mind. We loved watching all the colour and hearing them burn away from the lights. The occasion was marked by Nate's first serving of Maccas!!!

The ransom is one million dollars!!! hhoooaooa

PS Aussie Troy Bayliss won both races YAY
