Dette has bought a new camera (Pentax K100D for those interested) and we thought we'd test it out. So off to the beach,as Xander has been asking for a while to go. The boys had a great time and are keen to get back for a swim. Mitchell came over in the afternoon and had a play while daddy had a snooze, yay.

FINISHED

It's finished and what a great job. We are all so chuffed with it we are busy thinking up new projects for mummy.

Half way there. The boys were very excited and Marshall gave Woody a welcome kiss.

Shes powering through it.

Boys room

Dette has started to paint a mural on the boys wall. We will post the updates. Here is the starting point.

Sunday, September 24, 2006

On Sunday we did a bit of shopping and the boys got to make their personal tribute to Steve Irwin.

Another week over. The boys had their third swimming lesson and it is starting to become a routine again. Marshall is taking to it very well and is kicking and paddling. Xander was in a class by himself so got a lot of attention. Amelia next.

Saturday was the boys second swimming lesson. Marshall now loves it and had a ball, he is rather good too and got the plot very quickly. Dette was a bit disapointed as they have changed Xanders group and he thought he was getting demoted. "Mummy, i cant swim well can i". But they are both getting along nicely. In the afternoon we all piled into the bikes and trailer and went for a bike ride to the park for a picnic of sorts and a play. Great family day.

Sunday. Well i had a great day down at the Island. Fozzy picked me up at about 8.00 after I had got my leathers out of storage and it was on the back of the VTR1000 again. Bit foggy on the way down and a nasty prang to remind us all to ride carefully. The weather when we got there was magnificent. 20 odd degrees and blue skies. The racing all day was great and it had everything, Rossi steaming through, an Aussie doing well and a stack or two. Long ride home and a bit knackered now.

Yesterday while eating dinner the boys were watching Nemo. I told Xander it could stay on as long as he was still eating. He wondered how he could do both things at once. I told him to put a spoonful in his mouth and then watch the movie until he’d finished chewing, and then have another spoonful. He thought for a minute and then said, “Good point, Mummy!”

Today the boys received a special treat from the bakery because they’d been so good for me. They ate their ‘Little Foot’ biscuits when they’d finished their lunch. Marshall was first to finish and promptly asked for more, but unfortunately for him we didn’t have any. He gave up his argument and sat with me on the couch, until Xander said from the table, “I have some I can share with Marshall!” He’d broken a little bit off for his little brother!! It was even more adorable when Marshall gave him a huge smile and said, “Tanks Ander”. Xander also broke a little bit off for Mummy and Amelia, but we let him have it!

We are getting back into the routine a bit, I think, and because we didnt do anything exciting today I thought I would post some more cute creche pics.

It's something we have been meaning to do for ages so when i got back from the UK I promised we would go. The Aquarium. We havent been since Dad and I dived with the sharks for Brodes, ages ago. The set up is fantastic and around every corner are tanks with different fish and sea life. A particular hit was a tank with just Nemos and Dorys in it. The climax with the sharks was ripper and the rays had a different impact after Steve Irwin. They do have big spikes. Then a shop a thon and we came away with a plethora of soft and hard sharks!!! Back to Grans for lunch and a snooze. A ripper day where we spoiled the children rotten and had a great family day out. Were all a bit knackered now so an early night for all

Back to Swimming Lessons

The boys havent been to swimming lessons for a while so we decided it was about time to get them back in. Xander has been promoted to the big boys and swims by himself with a teacher. Marshall was a bit nervous with all the poeple but settled down after a while and joined in with gusto. They had a ball and it was a bit easier having Xander in by himself. Then we went down to Grandmas and Granfers for mum to goto an Enjo party. She is hooked and bought some more stuff!!!! Xander, Marshall and Daddy went to Uncle Petes and the boys had a ball playing with Fraser and Gemma. Daddy helped Fraser download a BASIC programming tool, I dont think it will be long before he is teaching me how to program though!

Australia lost another great son the other day.

I was awaken this morning by a nude boy "move over daddy." As i got ready for work from Xander, "Daddy, I don't want you to goto work. I want you to stay home and play." How do you answer that!! Then , "Its okay Daddy, I love you."

Little things I know but Marshall did another wee in the potty without us asking. He's growing up so fast!!! Our friend Michelle had a baby, Lachlan James Sherrif, mother and baby doing well. 5am start for me at work today so a bit tired and had a snooze. I woke up to the Steve Irwin memorial special. It was really sad and we both had a tear in our eye as the footage of him with his kids was shown.

RIP Steve

Daddy : "Did you have a sleep at school."
Xander : Well I was having a rest, something was distracting me so i got up."

Marshall went into the rumpus and took his trakky pants and nappy off and sat down and did a wee on the potty all by himself.

Xanders new saying, "are you thinking what im thinking?"

Amelia on the back one minute, look away, now shes on her tummy!!

Happy Birthday Bernadette

We had a lovely day celebrating Dette's birthday. I bought her a bike and child seat for the back and the amigoes gave lollies and dvds. It took a bit of fiddling to get the seat on and then Dette took the boys for a spin. I was really chufed when Dette said it was the first bike she had owned. Looking forward to some family outings on them.

Okay Sam, good one

Well Sam, you beat me to the punch on the video post. So i couldnt let it go without posting one too. Here goes. This is the video that kept me smiling the time i was away.

Home

Well I have arrived home safe and well. Checked out at 1pm, the latest they would let me, and had 6 more hours to wander. Unfortunately it chucked it down with a huge thunder storm and i got rather wet. I then sat in the lobby and read my book for an hour or so and got a taxi. I am a rather nervous, "have i forgotton passport, miss flight) person so I was happy to get checked in and on the plane. My luggage was always going to be over and this was a concern but they didnt care. Should have bought more stuff and brought those clothes back Sam.

The bloke at customs let me straight through, perhaps becasue i had a huge silly grin on my face. I walked through the walkway and saw my family. Marshall put a huge sprint on and beat Xander. It felt so good to cuddle and kiss them, they had all grown so much. Dette looked great and I missed her so much. Mum and Dad were also there so it was a warm welcome. Xanders first words, "I love you daddy. Can we watch Ice Age when we get home."

We got home and distributed some pressies. The amigos were chuffed with their toys from Dodo and Elsie and then dressed up in their Vietnam outfits. I got Dette some Jean Paul Gautier perfume, that killed about an hour choosing that!!!! She was happy though and it smells lovely on her.

Everything felt a bit weird and new for a couple of hours and then back into a routine. It was nice to sit down and have tea with the family again. The flight had been okay , again for the third flight in a row, getting three seats to myself, however I was still knackered and flaked out on the couch at about 8ish. All the amigos were pretty good overnight and we got a good sleep. Up and back into routine, even got to a Enjo Party at Carmels.

On the way home Xander : "Ive got something yucky in my mouth." Mummy : "What is it?" Xander : "Its a snoodge." Mummy : "How did it get there." Xander (looking coy) : "Dont know" Mummy : "Did you pick your nose to see what it tastes like." Xander : "Yes , and it tastes yucky."

Dettes birthday tomorrow. Fathers day Sunday.
